1. Beginning. Good morning ,dear girls and boys. Today we’ ll

sum up what you know about hobbies. Who will give me

the definition of the word a hobby?

2. Look at the blackboard. Read this question «Do hobbies

really make people’s life brighter and happier and their

mind richer?». Comment on it.

3. Now we shall see if you know hobbies. ( я показываю

карточку со словом.) The syllables are mixed. For

example, -lec-ting-col.

4. Now I shall give you prompts and you will have to guess

what hobby it is. e.g.: a novel, a hero, a detective story, a

book. ---- It’s reading. (я показываю слайд № 1).

5. Children, how can you form new words? Yes, you’re right,

with the help of suffixes and prefixes. Try to form some

words .( to collect- collecting, a collector, a collection). To

fish, to hunt, to dive, to surf, to go, to travel, to paint, a

game, a photo, a mountain.

6. Now name adjectives to describe a hobby. Pupils name:

exciting, interesting, risky, dangerous, responsible, up-to-

date, useful, pleasant, entertaining, educational, etc.

7. Я показываю слайд № 2. Look at the slide and make up

sentences. Don’t forget to express your own point of view.

A pupil: Personally, I think that snowboarding is for young

and strong men because….

8. Слай № 3. You know how to form derivatives. Complete

the sentences using the derivatives of the words on the

right. E.g. People have ……… hobbies. / differ. ……..

stamps is …….. / collect, interest.

9. Listening Comprehention «Mr. Davis’s Hobbies». «True»,

«False», «Not stated».

Mr. Davis has a lot of hobbies. What about you? Tell

us about your hobby in brief. Слайд № 4.

At home you will write a letter about your hobby.
